Back in August 2009, I decided it was time to give Blood Bowl a rest for a while and get back into some 40K gaming. That meant it was time for a new army - but rather than buy yet another new army, I decided to scavenge as many models as I could from old projects and get them painted. The time of the Crimson Fists had come... |

Building a Primarch? Probably the biggest step for a Space Marine fanboy like myself. I knew immediately that it had to be the best model in my army, something that really stood out from the others, given the larger than life personalities that accompany the characters. With that considerable task at hand, I set out making him from the parts available to me... |

The plastic human models from the Blood Bowl box set are a great way to start playing the game. I decided to convert mine slightly to theme them as Middenheimers and changed them into the Middenheim Mustangs. |

Rich decided to make an Emperor's Children force in July '08 but wanted to be able to do so on a sensible budget. Purchasing all the metal parts needed to make Sonic Blasters and Blastmasters would have cost him a small fortune so he had to think fast and came up with a cheap and inventive way to represent those weapons. |

On the weekend of the 16th and 17th May 2009, eight members of the Bunker headed up to Warhammer World to take part in The Great Crusade campaign weekend organised by Tempus Fugitives. Gareth, Rich, Luke, Andy, Alex, Brad, Jim and Dennis had been planning and painting their Ork armies for months in readiness and formed an entire task force to take the Waaagh!!! to the marine boyz... |

With the club forum buzzing with talk of Necromunda, it was a perfect chance to finish off an old project that had been left incomplete for a number of years - an Orlock gang. |

Amazon teams are probably my favourite in Blood Bowl. Despite having very low armour, they really can pack a punch - and everyone having Dodge really annoys your opponent which can be highly amusing (unless they're playing a Dwarf team, of course...) This is the second Amazon team I've painted but look very different to most other Amazon teams I've seen.

In January 2009, Rich challenged the other members of the Bunker to join him in "A Tale of Bunker Gamers"; our spin on the famous White Dwarf army building articles. I opted for Tomb Kings as I thought they would be easy to paint although it would be the first Fantasy army I'd ever have painted. I was surprised how quick they can be painted if you choose some easy techniques...

The club's Blood Bowl league started on the first meeting of 2009 and I wanted to field a new team. I had always wanted to try a Skaven team after playing against Phil's infamous Blackhearts so many times before - so I dug them out and got painting... |
